French luxury hotel brand Airelles is set to open its first property outside of France in autumn 2025, with an exquisite location on Venice’s Giudecca island . Airelles Venezia will overlook a canal and offer views of St. Mark’s Basilica, combining opulent historical charm with an outdoor pool—a rare feature in Venice. Room rates are expected to start at €1,000 ($1,060) per night.
Known for exclusive properties like Grand Contrôle at the Palace of Versailles and Les Airelles in Courchevel, Airelles caters to elite travelers, including celebrities like Beyoncé, Prince William, and the Beckhams. Owned by French billionaire Stéphane Courbit, the brand has gained a cult following for its unique, heritage-infused hotel experiences.
Airelles CEO Anne-Laure Ollagnon shared that expanding outside France has been a long-time goal, with Italy a natural choice given its historical ties and the brand’s clientele. Many guests frequently travel to iconic Italian destinations like Tuscany, Florence, and Venice. “Starting in such an iconic city just made sense for us,” said Ollagnon.
The Venice property will span three historic buildings , with the main entrance housed in a 16th-century palazzo designed by Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio. The property surrounds the Santa Maria della Presentazione church, a picturesque landmark featuring two bell towers. Guests will enjoy exclusive access to the church, including options for private tours and even wedding rentals.
In addition to 45 luxury rooms, the hotel will feature a 1,700-square meter (18,000-square foot) spa and wellness center, three pools, multiple bars, and a cicchetti bar for Venetian-style small plates. The grand presidential suite, housed in a nearly 500-year-old villa, is expected to have nightly rates above €35,000.
Looking ahead, Airelles plans to expand further in Italy, with possible locations in Tuscany, Florence, and the Amalfi Coast. “We want to be where our guests like to go,” Ollagnon confirmed.
