Air India Express has announced new routes, reaching a total of 51 destinations across India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Starting December 20, 2024, the airline will operate direct flights from Pune and Surat to Bangkok.
The expansion strengthens domestic connectivity with new routes, including Dimapur to Guwahati and Patna to Bengaluru and Hyderabad. These additions aim to connect non-metro cities with international hubs, promoting tourism and economic growth.
Travelers can book affordable flights now on the airline’s website. Fares for Pune-Bangkok start at INR 6,500 for Xpress Lite and INR 7,000 for Xpress Value. Surat-Bangkok fares begin at INR 7,500 and INR 8,000, respectively.
According to Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express, linking smaller cities to key destinations is part of the airline’s strategy . With flights to Bangkok, Air India Express hopes to expand in Southeast Asia while also improving domestic connectivity.
From Pune, travelers now have access to 75 weekly flights , connecting to Bangkok, eight domestic destinations, and one-stop access to 29 additional cities. Similarly, Surat offers 40 weekly flights, with direct routes to Bangkok and six other destinations, along with seamless connections to 27 additional cities.
