Indian travelers can now enjoy easier entry into the UAE. Starting immediately, Indian passport holders are eligible for visa-on-arrival at all UAE entry points. This policy also covers those with a valid residency or visa from the US, UK, or EU, making the UAE even more accessible for Indian visitors.
Under the new arrangement, travelers can choose between a 14-day visa that can be extended once or a non-extendable 60-day visa. Both options come with applicable fees, which must be paid according to UAE guidelines. Additionally, travelers must ensure their passports are valid for at least six months from the date of entry, as confirmed by the Indian mission in the UAE on October 17.
This initiative builds on earlier steps aimed at making travel more convenient for Indian nationals. In early 2023, Emirates, the UAE’s flagship airline, partnered with VFS Global to introduce a pre-approved visa-on-arrival service, helping Indian travelers avoid immigration delays. Dubai also launched a five-year multiple-entry visa for Indian nationals the same year, demonstrating its commitment to deepening ties with one of its largest tourist markets.
India continues to be a vital source of tourism for Dubai, with 2.46 million overnight visitors from India in 2023 alone—a remarkable 25% increase over pre-pandemic numbers. This increase has cemented India’s position as Dubai’s top tourism market, according to the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.
