United Airlines has announced its largest international route expansion yet, adding eight new destinations for summer 2025. The new routes include popular tourist spots and unique, lesser-visited locations.
Starting in May, United will offer flights to Mongolia, Greenland, and Senegal , marking significant additions to its itinerary. The airline will be the only U.S. carrier flying to these destinations. For instance, travelers can enjoy a seasonal flight to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, via Tokyo starting May 1. Adventure travelers will appreciate easier access to Mongolia’s unspoiled landscapes, with tourist visits already up 25% year-over-year.
In Greenland, United will launch twice-weekly service to Nuuk from Newark on June 14. This new route offers the only direct flight from the U.S. to Greenland, a perfect gateway to its glaciers and fjords. Another standout route is the nonstop flight from Washington, D.C., to Dakar, Senegal, launching on May 23. Dakar has been rising in popularity among U.S. tourists for its vibrant markets, beaches, and culture.
Additionally, United is expanding its transatlantic routes from Newark. These include Palermo, Italy; Bilbao, Spain; and Faro and Madeira Island, Portugal. The airline will also offer new nonstop flights from Washington, D.C., to Nice, France, and Venice, Italy.
With more than 760 weekly flights across the Atlantic, United continues to strengthen its international network. All new flights will be available for booking on the airline’s website and app, subject to government approval.
